Boo! But there’s nothing scary about getting FREE food on Halloween.
Fast food chains and fast casual sit-down chains are offering a variety of FREE and discount offers, often with no purchase required.
Most require you or the kids - or both - to show up in costume to get the goodies. Just like trick or treating door-to-door at your neighbors’ apartments and houses.
Most offers are on Oct. 31 only.

Here’s where to get FREE & cheap food on Halloween, in no particular order:
Krispy Kreme
Again this year, get a FREE donut at participating locations on Oct. 31.
A costume is required, but not a purchase, and you must be inside the store to get a free donut.
Chipotle Boorito
Once again this year, trick yourself out and show up in costume on Oct. 31 and Chipotle will treat you to one of its large “Boorito” bowls, salads or tacos for $4, same price as last year.
The $4 deal also includes taco bowls. Also, submit a photo of yourself wearing a costume by tagging @Chipotle on Instagram for the chance to win free burritos for a year.
IHOP
Kids 12 and under get a spooky-looking pancake on Oct. 31 from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. — no costume required.
Note that there’s nothing on the IHOP website that indicates how this spooky pancake will be eaten - sit down or take-out.
Kids Eat Free Halloween Deals
Kids eat FREE on Oct. 31 with the purchase of an adult entree.
Applebee’s
Take your kids in-costume to dine at a participating Applebee’s location in Florida, Georgia, New Jersey or Long Island and your kids’ meals will be free.
Families can get up to two free kid’s meals.
Note that this kids eat free deal is not valid in the Times Square location.
There are other national chains offering freebies and discounts on Halloween, but NYC on the Cheap is publishing only deals from chains which have a location in NYC or the Tri-State area.
EXPIRED, Sorry, this deal or event is no longer available.
