Scam Alert: Times Square New Year’s Eve Parties

POSTED BY
Evelyn Kanter

new year's eve in times squareScam Alert: Don’t get ripped off by bogus Multiple Venue/Pay-One-Price/All Access passes for New Year’s Eve parties and events around Times Square.

You are not likely to get past NYPD security lines to get to more than just one event on the list, and since these passes are probably counterfeit, you’ll be turned away at the event door.

Do not end 2019 and start 2020 be being swindled out of the money to buy the pass, and also be left without a party.

The Times Square Alliance warns such bogus Multiple Venue/Pay-One-Price/All Access pass holders were refused access beyond police check points in past years, leaving pass holders angry, with no party to attend.

With heightened security again this year, it is reasonable to assume the NYPD will take the same stance again this year.

Beware of counterfeit NYE party passes

Additionally, the Alliance warns that scalpers often sell these passes on the street for exorbitant prices, and they are often counterfeit.

On New Year’s Eve, as any day, if an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Multiple Venue/Pay-One-Price/All Access passes are exactly that – too good to be true. Avoid them.

Again – beware of scam Multiple Venue/Pay-One-Price/All Access passes for New Year’s Eve parties in Times Square.

Don’t end 2019 or start 2020 by being ripped off

Here is a list of some two dozen Times Square area parties approved by the Times Square Alliance as legitimate.

If you buy a ticket or pass to one of these events directly from the restaurant or club, it will be accepted by the NYPD as legit, for you and your group to pass through lines for admission.

Prices vary – none of them are cheap.

This list of approved NYE party locations is from the Times Square Alliance, republished by NYC on the Cheap.

Best to contact the Times Square Alliance to find out why Rosie O’Grady’s is not on this official approved list.
