Any day is a good day to volunteer to help those less fortunate than you. On Sunday, September 11, 2011, the tenth anniversary of that awful day, is an especially good day to join others in a day of service to the community. You could help out at JCC, packing food bags for the homeless, for a non-profit group called Midnight Run, which distributes meals in the evenings. There are two two-hour volunteer shifts during the day, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., or from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. JCC is at Amsterdam Avenue at 76th St. Don’t just show up. Let them know you are coming to help.
