Just in time for the new school year, NYC kids as young as 10 now can get the FREE IDNYC cards allowing them free admission to museums, zoos, discounts on movies and bike rentals and more benefits.
The IDNYC program had been open only to children as young as 14 years old. Lowering the age limit could add 300,000 NYC kids to the IDNYC rolls.
Roughly 1.2 million New Yorkers already have the cards, which are available only to NYC residents (sorry visitors), regardless of their immigration status.
The IDNYC card offers multiple benefits including FREE admission to museums, zoos and botanical gardens, discounts on shopping and entertainment, and can be used as a library card for the NYPL, Brooklyn and Queens library systems.
