NY Philharmonic FREE Friday Concerts

POSTED BY
Evelyn Kanter

nyc free concerts In addition to the annual FREE outdoor summer concert series in NYC parks, the New York Philharmonic offers FREE tickets to Friday performances - but only to young people aged 13-26.

It’s an effort to introduce the next generation to the music of Beethoven, Bach, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Strauss and other classical favorites.

There are just 100 free tickets for young people available for each Philharmonic Free Fridays concert, for tickets normally priced between $50 and $169.

Online reservations open at about noon on the Monday before each Philharmonic Free Fridays concert.

NY Philharmonic Free Concerts ticket rules

Tickets are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. It is one ticket per person, and the online sign-up closes when the 100 available tickets have been reserved.

Your reserved ticket can be picked up with a valid ID at the box office in David Geffen Hall on the day of the concert.

Pick up tickets between 5:30 and 7:30pm for concerts that begin at 8pm, or between 5:00 and 7:00pm for concerts that begin at 7:30 pm.

If you do not pick up your ticket at least 30 minutes before the start of the concert, the NY Philharmonic may release it.

Here’s the link for reservations.

Almost 7,000 Philharmonic Free Fridays tickets have been distributed to young people throughout New York.

Major support for Philharmonic Free Fridays is provided by an Anonymous Donor.

Additional funding is provided by Muna and Basem Hishmeh.
