One of New York City’s favorite holiday traditions returns on Friday, Oct. 30.
The Bryant Park Winter Village includes the famous and popular FREE ice skating rink, European-style holiday markets and festive decorations.
Things are different this year to keep us all safe and socially-distanced.
There are fewer shops - around 60, instead of the usual 200 - but all still offer hand-crafted gift items, including many NYC logo items.
There’s no more indoor heated Lodge for warm drinks. Instead, there’s a heated outdoor Lodge Deck.
The biggest changes are for the ice skating rink.
Yes, it’s still FREE, but this year reservations must be made online. - there are no more walk-ups.
Also, sessions are limited to 90 minutes, so know exactly when you want to go ice skating before you make the reservation.
Rentals are $21 to $36, depending on day of week and time of day. Bank of America card holders get a 10% discount (Bank of America sponsors the Winter Village)
The rink is open 8am to 10pm daily.
Make your reservations here.
If you have your own skates, be sure to click that option.

New Rules for Bryant Park Ice Skating Rink
In addition to required reservations, these are changes you should know before you go:
Renting skates is now outside, no longer inside, and so is lacing up your skates.
Bag Check has moved out of the skating areas, and lockers have been eliminated.
All skate rentals come with a complimentary shoe bag that will be worn on your back with shoes securely stowed.
If you are bringing your own skates, you must have a similarly sized bag* (16″ x 18″) OR you can purchase one onsite at The Rink or Bryant Park Shop.
All other items must be checked before entering skating areas. Bag Check is on the south side of the park, near the carousel.
Absolutely no personal items can be left on the ground, on benches, or with chaperones in skating areas.
Unattended items will be taken to security and will be subject to Bag Check fees upon retrieval.
