Another sign of NYC getting back to business:
Superstsar chef David Burke re-opens his flagship David Burke Tavern on Tuesday, April 27 with a list of $7 deals, including a his signature burger, and new Happy Hour deals.
From 4pm to closing, get the Tavern Cheeseburger, stacked with Vermont cheddar, B1 mayo, lettuce onion and tomato, on an English muffin, for just $7. It’s a deal because it’s normally priced at $28, fries included.
You do the math. $7 instead of $28. Add fries for another $7 and it’s still $14 instead of $28.
Even better, the $7 burger deal will be every Tuesday evening, along with $7 sides, $7 vegetable tacos, $7 beer and $7 wine, also from 4pm to closing.
A burger and a beer for $14 bucks in one of the best restaurants in town? Add fries for $21? That works for me.
Burke is calling it 777 Burger Night, reflecting the three $7 menu items.
On other nights, the cheeseburgers (with fries and side salad) will be its regular is normally a popular seller at $28, while sides are $12, beer is $10 and wines by the glass start $15.
Happy Hour deals
Wednesday thru Saturday, Happy Hour is 4pm to 9pm, featuring $2 oysters, the Tavern Cheeseburger at $11, $7 hand-cut fries, $7 beer and $10 wine.
Happy Hour at David Burke Tavern is available only in the outdoor seating area - as opposed to the Tuesday 777 Burger Night, which is available indoors, throughout restaurant, and out.
The David Burke Tavern 777 Burger Night will be every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to closing stating April 27.
The reopening of David Burke Tavern also includes a new spring menu for on-and-off-site dinner.
The restaurant is at 135 E. 62nd St. 212.988-9021
