You may have heard that the American Red Cross is experiencing its worst blood shortage in more than a decade, and there’s an urgent need for blood donation right now.
Krispy Kreme is giving us an incentive to donate blood now, by offering more than the traditional juice and cookies when you roll up your sleeve and donate a pint of life-saving blood or platelets.
Through Jan. 31, participating Krispy Kreme locations will give you a FREE Original Glazed dozen doughnuts when you show your donation sticker or confirmation of donation on the Red Cross blood donor app. No purchase necessary.
All blood types are needed (as well as platelet donations), but especially O positive and O negative.
For most of 2021, Krispy Kreme also gave away FREE donuts to anybody who showed proof of Covid vaccination, so thanks again to Krispy Kreme for encouraging us to be smart citizens.
To make an appointment to give blood or platelets, use the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-733-2767.
Blood donations to organizations other than the American Red Cross also qualify for the offer. Just show proof of donation and date via your local blood center, including your donor band, sticker, form or app.
