We’ve missed you! Welcome back Atlantic Antic, Brooklyn’s longest-running block party, with a line-up of family-friendly new attractions including a family circus.
The Atlantic Antic Festival, along Atlantic Avenue, is on Sunday, Oct. 3rd, the first time in two years, since before you-know-what shut down so many popular annual events, and it’s yet another sign that NYC is returning to normal. Although with masks.
And MetroPlus Health is providing FREE Covid vaccinations at its booth between Smith and Hoyt Streets.
The 10-block festival, from Hicks St. to Fourth Ave. returns with the addition of the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, bringing pop-up performances along the avenue for the first time, and ten performance stages.
Really, who doesn’t love the circus, no matter how old you are. And which stage will you visit first.
This is the 46th annual Atlantic Antic, the oldest street festival in Brooklyn.
Additional attractions include performances from Kids Rock for Kids, a Kids Zone on Boerum Place and a line-up of music and dance performances in a variety of genres.
And, of course, lots of local vendors selling food, handmade handicrafts, food, clothing and food.
That includes great Middle Eastern food from the shops along Atlantic Avenue, including the legendary Sahadi Bros.
Here are event highlights
Bindlestiff Family Cirkus: performances along the avenue, specifically between Hicks and Henry streets.
Kids Rock for Kids: an energetic and talented group of tweens and teens will be performing between Henry and Clinton streets.
Kids Zone: located at the corner of Boerum Place, attendees can enjoy the sights of bounce houses, petting zoos, pony rides, a toddler soccer activation, and DIY crafts including slime creation.
Music and Dance: includes children’s dance performances, belly dancing, R&B, Hip-Hop, Folk, Middle Eastern, a trumpeter, a saxophonist, and an all-female drumming group.
Businesses: festival-goers are encouraged to shop and dine locally on Atlantic Avenue.
