All Aboard: Amtrak Sale on Northeast Travel Includes Acela

POSTED BY
Evelyn Kanter

amtrak fare sale

All aboard for this Amtrak sale on travel between some of the most popular cities in the Northeast, including to and from New York City, for just  $29.  Acela fares are just $49 and $69.

The sale is for the Northeast corridor, between NYC and Washington, DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston and Providence.

Book through August 31 for travel through Sept. 12, and if your plans change, no worries - Amtrak is waiving change fares.

Go sightseeing, enjoy the beach, go back to college, visit family, or enjoy the spectacular fall foliage even Labor Day Weekend holiday travel.

Plan a trip in the Northeast aboard Northeast Regional and Acela. Book your travel 14 days in advance to save on convenient downtown-to-downtown service. Plus, no change fees through August 31.

What to Expect Onboard Amtrak

Amtrak’s commitment to keeping you safe includes enhanced and more frequent cleaning on train and in stations, as well as limiting the number of passengers to support physical distancing.

Amtrak is limiting bookings on most trains to allow for more physical distancing in seating areas.

Individuals traveling alone will have the seat next to them to themselves, while friends and family members will easily find seats together.

Arrive at the station minutes before departure for quick and easy boarding.

Large comfortable leather seats, with plenty of space and legroom.

Free WiFi and power outlets at your seat.

Free oversized luggage storage for up to four bags — yes, four free bags.

NYCOTC loves Amtak because you leave from downtown and arrive downtown, avoiding long, expensive trips to the airport, and even Turnpike and bridge tolls and high-priced gas that cost more than the train fare.

That makes Amtrak often faster, and always cheaper, than flying. Amtrak is my favorite way to travel between home in NYC and family, friends and business meetings in Philly, Boston and Washington, DC.

The popular Quiet Car provides a library-like atmosphere to relax or focus on an important project, there’s FREE Wi-Fi, lots of leg room, no middle seat, and most trains now allow pet owners to travel with small dogs or cats.

Amtrak also has a sale  on longer vacation trips.

The Go Beyond Your Backyard Sale is for trips up to 10 days, or longer, throughout the USA, including to such National Parks as Yellowstone, Yosemite and Grand Canyon.

Here are the Northeast Corridor sale prices:
