All Aboard: Lowest Amtrak Fares of 2020 for Northeast Travel

POSTED BY
Evelyn Kanter

Amtrak Penn Station Amtrak has extended its lowest fares of 2020 for travel in the Northeast through December 13, 2020.

Book now for fares as low as $29 between New York and Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, DC and Providence.

Amtrak Saver Fares offer low prices on the Northeast Regional, select Keystone service and select Pennsylvanian service.

Book the bargain fares through October 31,  and if your plans change, no worries – Amtrak is waiving change fares.

Plus, you get convenient downtown-to-downtown service with no expensive or time-consuming taxi fares to or from the airport.

Go sightseeing, enjoy the beach, go back to college, visit family, or enjoy the spectacular fall foliage even Labor Day Weekend holiday travel.

Plan a trip in the Northeast aboard Northeast Regional and Acela. Book your travel 14 days in advance to save on convenient downtown-to-downtown service.

What to Expect Onboard Amtrak

Amtrak’s commitment to keeping you safe includes enhanced and more frequent cleaning on train and in stations, as well as limiting the number of passengers to support physical distancing.

Amtrak is limiting bookings on most trains to allow for more physical distancing in seating areas.

Individuals traveling alone will have the seat next to them to themselves, while friends and family members will easily find seats together.

Arrive at the station minutes before departure for quick and easy boarding.

Large comfortable leather seats, with plenty of space and legroom.
Free WiFi and power outlets at your seat.
Free oversized luggage storage for up to four bags — yes, four free bags.

NYCOTC loves Amtak because you leave from downtown and arrive downtown, avoiding long, expensive trips to the airport, and even Turnpike and bridge tolls and high-priced gas that cost more than the train fare.

That makes Amtrak often faster, and always cheaper, than flying. Amtrak is my favorite way to travel between home in NYC and family, friends and business meetings in Philly, Boston and Washington, DC.

The popular Quiet Car provides a library-like atmosphere to relax or focus on an important project, there’s FREE Wi-Fi, lots of leg room, no middle seat, and most trains now allow pet owners to travel with small dogs or cats.

Amtrak Saver Fares include these Coach class perks

  • Amtrak’s commitment to keeping you safe — enhanced and more frequent cleaning on trains and in stations, as well as limiting the number of passengers to support physical distancing
  • We are limiting bookings on most trains to allow for more physical distancing in seating areas. Individuals traveling alone may use the seat next to them for personal belongings, while friends and family members will easily find seats together.
  • Arrive at the station minutes before departure
  • Large seats with plenty of legroom
  • Four bags free. Yes, four. Yes, free.
  • Free WiFi and power outlets at every seat
  • Power outlets at every seat to help you stay connected

Saver Fares are also available on select Keystone Service to New York (for seats on reserved services only) when you travel through Philadelphia; and on the Pennsylvanian to connect you between New York and Pittsburgh.

When travel is essential, don’t sit in traffic. Sit in comfort. Northeast Regional trains get you to your destination without the stress and hassles of traffic.
