NYC Free: Hudson Yards Vessel Tickets

POSTED BY
Evelyn Kanter

best free things to do in NYCHow to get FREE tickets to visit The Vessel:

It’s one of the most extraordinary public sculptures in the world, an intricate honeycomb that you can climb and explore for magnificent views of Midtown, the Hudson River and beyond.

It’s The Vessel, the latest NYC landmark and centerpiece of Hudson Yards, FREE to explore.

Because it’s an instant must-see, tickets are required for timed entry.

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, since there are 154 intricately interconnecting flights of stairs — almost 2,500 individual steps and 80 landings.

Or, you could wait for the single small elevator that whisks you slowly to the top.

Be sure to bring your camera.

Where to eat for cheap in Hudson Yards.

Nothing on our list is more than $16, and some are as little as $3.

Two ways to get FREE tickets for The Vessel

You could go online.

Just request the day and time you want - up to six tickets per request - and arrive any time within the hour that you request.

But the online reservation system is time-consuming and often swamped.

You could be advised no tickets are available, or you could be told there are 300 to 500 people ahead of you waiting to make a reservation, and the wait - to make a reservation - is as long as an hour while you want with the website page open.

If you still want to go through that nonsense, here’s the link - Click here for FREE tickets.

But there’s a faster and better way.

Already a victim of its own success, just like its neighbor, the High Line.

So check back another time, as the website link now recommends, after the Opening Day onslaught is over.

You have to sign up for tickets on the special Hudson Yards ticket link.

Unlike our regular ticket giveaways to movie preview screenings, https://www.nyconthecheap.com has no tickets for The Vessel.
