Take the subway to Zurich, for a special week of FREE exhibits in Grand Central Terminal that also includes a high-tech virtual train journey from NYC to Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city. Like New York, Zurich is an important banking and financial center with great restaurants and museums. It’s also a gateway to much of the famous Swiss Alps.
Zürich Meets New York: A Festival of Swiss Ingenuity takes over Vanderbilt Hall May 17-23. In addition to the virtual reality trip, there are large-format photos by award-winning photographer and environmentalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand, author of the bestselling book, Earth from Above, who flew over Switzerland to gather footage for a new film to be released in 2015.
Visitors can also meet and take pictures with Eva, ETH Zurich’s virtual superhero scientist, in her fully decked-out science lab, as she encourages young people to pursue the wonders of science.
Zurich Meets New York 2014 is Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall 9AM to 8PM daily.
