The newest outpost of the fast growing chain Xi’an Famous Foods is now open in the shadow of the Empire State Building. It’s the largest restaurant in the company’s spreading empire of affordable Chinese food, and it gets pretty crowded at lunchtime.
Xi’an Famous Foods is at 14 East 34th Street. This is largest restaurant in the company’s growing chain, and every dish is $10 or less, inlcuding the chain’s famous handmade and hand pulled noodle dishes. Xi’an Famous Foods describes its fare as “heavy in cumin, chili, Sichuan peppercorns, and other spices, with local specialties ranging from famous hand-ripped ‘biang biang’ noodles, seared in hot oil, to lamb ’burgers’ with a jalapeño kick.”
The new location is at 14 East 34th Street, and is the sixth in Manhattan. There also are two each in Brooklyn and Queens.
It’s open daily, 11:30am to 8:30pm.
To help you manage your time, Xi’an’s website has a real-time store traffic meter that lets you know just how busy it is at the moment.
