Give thanks this Thanksgiving weekend to the brave men and women who helped ensure the Allies’ victory in World War II, at a special Living History Days program at the New York Historical Society. Take the kids to hear their stories, and those of military re-enactors, and get a special guided tour of the new museum exhibition WWII & NYC.
There are daily programs Friday through Sunday, November 23-25. These Living History guides are members of the Army Air Forces Historical Association (AAFHA), an historical and educational non-profit organization that honors the American aircrews that participated in the European and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. Based in New Jersey, its members participate in air shows, historical retrospects, educational programs, and seminars to provide a living voice and context to the harrowing experiences of World War II veterans. The Living History program is free with museum admission. The New York Historical Society is at Central Park west and 82nd Street.
