Celebrate the Lindy Hop where it all began, in Harlem. Monday, May 26 is the first International Lindy Hop Day, which also coincides with the 100th birthday of iconic Lindy Hop dancer and teacher Frankie Manning.
Events in Harlem include a parade and dance performances. Join or watch the dance parade starting at 1 p.m. from the Savoy Plaque, site of the old Savoy Ballroom, on 141st St. down Lenox Avenue to 135th Street.
Followed by FREE dance performances and a FREE swing dance with the Harlem Renaissance Orchestra in the PS 175 schoolyard, 135th St. between Seventh and Eighth Avenues.
Remember, dancing is not a spectator sport. See you on the dance floor.
