The annual Wired Magazine holiday shop opens in NYC today with trendy electronics and other gear to test drive for FREE, with no sales pressure, since nothing is on sale.
New this year is an interactive storefront window that lets you browse and play with a collection products through the glass, via a combination of touchscreen displays and in-window products, so if you need a 3am tech fix, you can get it.
This year’s must-haves include a robot nutcracker, wireless headphones, wide angle lenses for mobile devices, a carbon turntable for those 78rpm vinyl classics we can’t bear to get rid of, and a stainless steel wireless computer keyboard.
In addition to the cutting-edge electronics and other gadgets, there are music performances and demonstrations.
As usual, the Wired Magazine holiday shop is open for just two weeks, today, Wednesday, Dec. 8, to Sunday, Dec. 20. This year’s address is 154 Spring St., between West Broadway and Wooster St. in Soho.
You can also test drive new Apple products FREE a few blocks away at the Apple Retail Store in Soho, and at the new Microsoft Store on Fifth Avenue.
