Pilates in the park — Join Lou Cornacchia, founder of Cobble Hill’s Body in Balance Studio, for sunset Pilates every Thursday at 7 p.m. on Pier 6 of Brooklyn Bridge Park for an intermediate Pilates mat class. You’ll will learn proper technique, core muscle strength, spinal alignment and shoulder stabilization. Lou’s teaching remains true to the basic tenets established by Joseph Pilates. Shape Up with Equinox — This workout fuses high energy aerobics, martial arts, dance, yoga, and strength conditioning. Attendance is limited to 75 people on a first come, first served basis. Every Thursday at 5:30 p.m., at Pier 46, Hudson River Park South, at Charles Street. Event website.
Yoga on the Beach — Join yoga instructors Helen Kilgallen and Valerie Nichols from Elaine’s Dance School in Queens in this beginner Hatha Yoga class. Bring a mat, large towel, or blanket. Every Saturday at 8 a.m. through August 25th, at Beach 108th Street and the Boardwalk, Rockaway Beach. Event website.
