It’s getting tougher to find holiday gifts and decorations made in America. But you can — Maryland-based A Christmas Ornament Co. has distinguished itself by offering only American-made products, partnering with several US manufacturers to create custom Christmas ornaments and other holiday decorations. Prices range from $16 for four snowball ornaments, to $22 for a Civil War war memorial hand-painted on hand-blown glass.
Do something special for your family — and for the US economy this Christmas season by looking for the Made in America label.A recent Gallup Poll found that 72% of Americans are paying “heightened attention” to the country of origin of the products they buy, and 65% are making an effort to specifically avoid products made in China. While it is clear a majority of Americans want to buy products made in the USA, they are increasingly difficult to find. A few years ago, I was horrified to find mostly foreign-made articles in the gift shop of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Yeegads — you would think the West Point gift shop would feature t-shirts and other souvenirs Made in America. But, as I said — they are tough to find, because manufacture of such items is now almost exclusively overseas and imported to the USA.
