With the demise of Priscilla of Boston, the end of Filene’s and its annual Running of the Brides mayhem, and Kleinfeld’s downsizing to an appointment only boutique, what’s a bride to do? Head for The Bridal Garden, and feel doubly good about yourself on your special day — once for getting top designer gowns for up to 75% off retail, and once again for shopping at a boutique whose proceeds benefit education programs for New York City kids. The Bridal Garden features current wedding gowns by top names including Amsale, Angel Sanchez, Badgley Mischka, Monique Lhuillier, Reem Acra, and Vera Wang, along with one-of-a-kind headpieces and veils. Some are donated by the designers, others donated by a bride who wore the gown just for a day. Tailoring is not included in the price, but the fashion industry folks who founded and operate this philanthropic bridal shop will send you to a pro, either near the Flatiron location of the shop, or near where you live. The Bridal Garden is at 54 West 21st Street. By appointment only.
