All this week, TV station NY1 is airing a segment about the calm, quiet, tranquil places in The Big Apple.
It’s Valarie D’Elia’s regular Travel With Val feature on TV1, this week focusing on my new NYC travel guidebook, Peaceful Places New York City: 139 Tranquil Sites in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island.
Long title, and so is the serenity you’ll find in these urban escapes that soothe the soul, whether you are a native New Yorker — like me — or a NYC visitor looking to rest your eyes and brain and soothe your soul.
The photo on the cover is the beautiful Bow Bridge in Central Park, which gets my vote for the most romantic spot in The Big Apple, along with being one of the most peaceful, tranquil places in the city.
Valarie and I talk about parks and gardens, rooftop sanctuaries, and more. Hope you join us on TV1 this week. Or, just click on this link to see the NY1 video report.
Peaceful Places New York City is published by Menasha Ridge Press, and it’s available in bookstores including independents and chains Barnes & Noble and Borders, online from Amazon and Ebay.
It’s the first of a new series from the publisher — Peaceful Places Los Angeles just published , and Peaceful Places San Francisco is coming soon, written and photographed by writers who live in those cities.
