The Uber car service app is being expanded to deliver packages in NYC, not just people.
Uber Rush is the app’s new messenger service, which charges $15 minimum to deliver a package. For starters, the service is only in Manhattan, and only between the Battery and 110th Street, and only weekdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Uber Rush is for deliveries only – you can’t ask a messenger to go fetch your laptop from the repair shop and deliver it to you. And since Uber Rush messengers are delivering by bicycle or on foot, they won’t be able to deliver anything super-large or super-heavy.
