The folks behind the Tribeca Film Festival are back with the second-annual Tribeca TV Festival, with the same mix of premier preview screenings, interviews with actors and directors, and other special events as the annual film festival.
The 2018 schedule includes a 20th anniversary celebration of Law and Order: SVU, the premier of the 12th season of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, the premier of Madame Secretary season five, a conversation with Bryan Cranston, even an evening of TV pilots from indie writers and producers.
This year’s Tribeca TV Festival celebrates the pioneers who have broken boundaries in storytelling, and continue to do so this fall and beyond.
The four-day festival is Sept 20 to 23, with all screenings at Spring Studios.
Festival highlights include:
- the 20th season premiere of NBC’s Law & Order: SVU with star and executive producer Mariska Hargitay and executive producer Dick Wolf, longtime co-star Ice-T, and current cast,
- a look back at 10 years of dealmaking on ABC’s Shark Tank, with the Sharks
- new season premieres from Emmy-nominated Tracey Ullman’s Show with star and executive producer Tacey Ullman, interviewed by Meryl Steep
- Showtime’s Emmy-nominated Ray Donavan with producer and star Live Schreiver
- premiere of season 5 of CBS’s Madam Secretary with star Tea Leoni
- Sony Crackle’s Startup with Ron Perlman, Adam Brody

Actor Robert De Niro, who co-founded the Tribeca Film Festival in 2002 to rejuvenate lower Manhattan, is also the force behind the Tribeca TV Festival.
In a statement issued last year, launching the first-ever Tribeca TV Festival, he said, , “Ten years ago we wouldn’t have needed a TV festival. Now, with the change in the TV landscape, both the quality and quantity of shows, it makes sense,”
De Niro is among many Oscar-winning stars, including Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Michael Douglas who are making waves on the small screen.
