Some of the best chefs and restaurants beyond the borders of New York City are in the Hudson Valley, and many of them are participating in the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week.
From March 14th to March 27th, enjoy a prix fixe three-course lunch for $20, or dinner for $28 at more than 50 different restaurants, including several of my favorites included in my travel guidebook, Eating the Hudson Valley: Food Lover’s Guide to Local Dining, Wineries & More, available from Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
Make your reservations soon, before your choice of dates and restaurants is gone.
If you are a New Yorker who doesn’t own a car — no worries — a bunch of participating restaurants are just a block or two from a MetroNorth train station.
These include Cathryn’s Tuscan Grill in picturesque Cold Spring, Peter X Kelly’s X20-Xaviers on the Hudson on the waterfront pier in Yonkers, Mediterranean seafood at Caravela in Tarrytown, and the waterfront Harvest on the Hudson in Hastings.
Make a day of it. Have lunch or dinner, and spend the rest of the day wandering around town.
