The free advance screening is at 7PM Tuesday, October 28th in Flatiron, three days before the film opens to the public. NYCOTC has 50 tickets to give away.
Nightcrawler is a pulse-pounding thriller set in the underbelly of contemporary Los Angeles. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Lou Bloom, who discovers the high-speed world of L.A. crime journalism. Finding a group of freelance camera crews who film crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem, Lou muscles into the cut-throat, dangerous realm of nightcrawling — where each police siren wail equals a possible windfall and victims are converted into dollars and cents. Aided by Rene Russo as Nina, a veteran of the blood-sport that is local TV news, Lou blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story.
As in past NYCOTC free ticket giveaways, you are limited to two tickets per person. Please do not sign up if you can’t attend, since you will be depriving others of the free tickets.
Note: you must be a NYCOTC newsletter subscriber by noon tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 25th to be eligible for the free tickets. The sign-up code for the screening will be emailed to subscribers at 6 p.m. tomorrow.
As much as NYCOTC loves our Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest followers, you must be a newsletter subscriber to receive the ticket code, by email. The codes will not be published on Twitter, Facebook or Pinterest.
If you are not already a NYC on the Cheap subscriber, this is a good time to sign up. It’s free, of course.
