Monday Menus: The newest food hall in NYC offers some upscale and gourmet choices from local restaurants and caterers, including gluten-free. The Pennsy has opened at 2 Penn Plaza, with communal tables and take-away options.
The Pennsy is in the space formerly occupied by Borders Books.
An eclectic lineup includes
- Chef Franklin Becker’s gluten-free The Little Beet, his second location in NYC
- Chef Marc Forgione’s Lobster Press for lobster sandwiches and rolls
- Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors for sandwiches and burgers, and burger blends to take home and cook yourself
- The first brick-and-mortar outlet of the popular vegan food truck The Cinnamon Snail, with vegan Thai items made with tempeh and seitan.
Plus, The Bar at The Pennsy will serve as a happy-hour hot spot for commuters and sports fans.
The 8,000 square foot food hall is the brainchild of caterer Mary Giuliani, and features her collaboration with Mario Batali’s Mario by Mary, a high-quality soup and sandwich spot.
The Pennsy is at 2 Pennsylvania Plaza (Seventh Avenue and 33rd Street), 917-475-1830
