Thanksgiving at NYC restaurants

Thanksgiving 2013 NYCThese New York City restaurants will be serving up Thanksgiving feasts this year.  Some require reservations, so please call ahead. These meals don’t fall into the regular NYCOTC category of Cheap Eats, but Thanksgiving is just once a year and it could be worth the price to stay out of the kitchen and avoid polishing Grandma’s silver soup ladle. In alphabetical order –

’21′ – $105 per person, $55 per child 10 and under.  Appetizers: Oyster Stew, Foie Gras Terrine, Red and Green Oak Salad, Chilled Seafood (Clams, Oysters, Octopus, Shrimp, Crab), Cornmeal Crusted Crab Cake, Beefsteak Tomato Tower.  Main Courses: Heritage Turkey, Millbrook Venison Loin, Berkshire Pork Chop, Vegetarian Tasting, Grilled Filet of Beef, Sauteed King Salmon.  Desserts: Apple, Pecan and Pumpkin Pie.  Chocolate Layer Cake, Profiteroles, Creme Brulee.  21 West 52nd Street.  212-582-7200.

Bar Americain – $85 per person, beverages on consumption.  Raw Bar includes 1/2 dozen Oysters (18), 1/2 dozen Clams (14), 1/2 chilled Lobster (21) and more.  Appetizers: Choose from Brussels Sprouts, Vidalia Onion Soup, Escargot, Grilled Pizza and New Manhattan Clam Chowder.  Entrees: Choice of Maple Glazed Roasted Turkey, Grilled Swordfish, Prime Rib, Duck Confit, Rack of Pork.  Desserts include choice of Walnut Espresso Bread Pudding, Deep Dish Chocolate Cream Pie, Pumpkin Shoofly Pie, German’s Chocolate Cake, Bourbon Praline Profiterole.  152 W. 52nd Street.  212-265-9700.

David Burke Kitchen – $69 per person.  Table Shares $7 each include BBQ Smoked Turkey Wings, Salmon Pastrami, Maple Bacon, Potted Duck / Foie Gras Jar, House Ricotta / Honeycomb Jar, Roast Carrot Hummus Jar.  Starters: Lobster Dumpling Soup, Scallow & Butternut Chowder, Wedge, Autumn Market Salad, Duck Meatball Lasagna, Roasted Beet Carpaccio, Pretzel Crusted Crab Cake, Charred Octopus, Warm Oyster, Seared Foie Gras.  Mains: Roasted Organic Turkey, Crackling Pork Shank, Prime Beef Short Rib Cavatelli, Wood Roasted Maine Lobster, Grilled Swordfish Steak, Potato Crusted Cod, Fall Vegetable Torte and Dry-Aged Porterhouse For Two.  Zac Young’s Pie-a-Palooza includes Roast Pumpkin, Mitsu Apple Pie, Cranberry Sugar, Deep Fried Chocolate Pecan, Cheesecake Lollipop Tree for Two and Toffee Monkey Bread for Two.  23 Grand Street.  212-201-9119.

Katz’s Delicatessen – Must purchase ticket.  $75 Adults, $35 Children 12 and under, Children 5 and under free.  All-you-can-eat and drink features traditional favorites, Jewish specialties and everything in-between.  Turkey, Pastrami, Mashed Potatoes, Tsimmes, Latkes, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Pickles, Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Beer and more.  205 East Houston Street.  212-254-2246.

Le Cirque – $115 per person.  Appetizers; Pumpkin Veloute, Autumn Salad “Le Cirque”, Foie Gras Terrine, Tuna Tartare, Chestnut Pappardelle, Lobster Risotto.  Main:  Roasted Organic Turkey, Filet Mignon, Paupiette of Black Bass “Le Cirque”, Venison Saddle, Thanksgiving Trimmings.  Desserts: Crème Brûlée “Le Cirque”, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Soufflé, Apple-Cranberries Crumble, Pecan Pie, Selection of Ice Cream and Sorbets.  One Beacon Court, 151 E. 58th Street.  212-644-0202.

Maison Premiere – $65 per person.  Oyster Menu available A La Carte.  First Course: Choose from Pumpkin Veloute, Autumn Harvest Salad, Duck Mousse with Toast, Smoked Trout.  Main Course: Heritage Turkey, Sea Scallop, Cod.  Sides include Potato Puree and Roasted Root Vegetables & Pear.  Panna Cotta, Pumpkin Crumble A La Mode, Madeleines.  Small Plates menu availabe at the bar for walk-ins at dinner.  Oysters served until 1 am.  Cocktail Bar open until 4 am.  298 Bedford Avenue.  337-335-0446, ext. 103.

recette – (2 pm – 11 pm)  $85 per person.  First Course: Red Snapper Crudo, Oyster “Stuffing,” Bacon Gremolata, Brown Butter-Sage Vinaigrette.  Second Course: Turkey Leg “Lasagna,” Roasted Mushrooms, Béchamel, Sweet Carrot Purée, Parmesan.  Third Course: Turkey Roulade, Foie Gras & Chestnut “Dressings,” Pomme Purée, Haricot Vert, Cranberry, Black Truffle & Turkey Jus.  Dessert: Pumpkin Semifreddo, Pecan Crisp, Chocolate Genoise, Cranberry Coulis.  328 West 12th Street.  212-414-3000.

Telepan – (1 pm – 8:30 pm)  $95 per person.  Squash Soup, Autumn Salad, Smoked Brussels Sprouts & Egg Pasta, House-Smoked Brook Trout, Seared Foie Gras & Stuffed Apple.  Roasted Trout, Nantucket Bay Scallops, Roast Organic Turkey, Heritage Pork, Venision.  Hot Apple Pie, Quince Granita Parfait, Pumpkin Bread Pudding, Chocolate Pecan Tart, House-Made Ice Creams and Sorbets.  72 West 69 Street.  212-580-4300.

The Lion – $85 per person.  Appetizers & Salads: Bigeye Tuna Tartare, Roasted Butternut Squash Soup, Foie Gras, Garden Lettuce, Lacinato Tuscan Kale.  Entrees: Turkey Roulade, Berkshire Pork Chop, Hudson Valley Spiced Duck Breast, 28 Day Dry-Aged Delmonico Steak, Local Diver Scallops, Branzino, The Lion Burger ‘Special Blend’.  Sides to the Table: Mac and Cheese, Roasted Root Vegetables, Spinach Casserole, Green Beans.  Dessert: Traditional Pumpkin and Bourbon Pecan Tarts, Vanilla Ice Cream.  West 9th Street.  212-353-8400.
