Thank you JetBlue for Sandy relief; airline sponsors food trucks to serve hard-hit areas of Brooklyn, Queens, Hoboken, waives fees for passengers

Hurricane Sandy NYC, JetBlue waives feesThank you JetBlue for sponsoring New York City food trucks to supply FREE hot food in parts of Queens and Brooklyn ravaged by Hurricane Sandy.  Today, Queens-based JetBlue is also sending FREE food trucks to Hoboken, New Jersey, much of which remains without electricity or heat.

Today, NYC food trucks will be at 11th and Willow in Hoboken from noon to 4pm.

Please follow @NYFoodTruck @JetBlue and #wereallinthistogether on Twitter for exact locactions of food trucks sponsored by JetBlue.  Also thank you to participating members of the New York Food Truck Assn.

JetBlue Airways is back to full flight operations today, November 3rd in and out of New York City area airports, and waiving flight change fees through November 14th for passengers anywhere booked for travel through tomorrow.  If you are booked for a flight through the end of the year and can’t travel because of Hurricane Sandy, JetBlue will convert the full value of your ticket into a credit valid for one year — that applies to anybody who purchased a ticket on or before October 28th for future travel.

Here’s the link to the JetBlue website page for full information.

JetBlue also is donating suitcases full of money to Sandy recovery.

JetBlue also is matching the first $100,000 in donations made to the American Red Cross via its website (http://jetbluegives.org/).

In addition, the company is donating $250,000 to the JetBlue Crewmember Crisis Fund, a 503(c) independent non-profit designed to support JetBlue crewmembers, and will match, dollar for dollar, all crewmember donations to the fund through November 30, 2012.

“New York is our hometown, and accordingly, we had a large number of crewmembers, customers and neighbors in harm’s way this week. Our thoughts are with those who lost loved ones and suffered catastrophic property loss throughout the Northeast,” said JetBlue President and CEO Dave Barger.

Thank you, hometown airline JetBlue.  You are true blue, JetBlue.
