Enjoy special dishes and prix-fixe menus at Thai restaurants in NYC and Los Angeles this week in honor of the Thai New Year, called Songkran. Thai Restaurant Week is April 11 to 17. Participating Thai restaurants in NYC include Spice locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, where a special Lemongrass Seafood Combo is being offered.
The first Thai Restaurant Week is sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Songkran coincides with the Buddhist/Hindu solar calendar, and is traditionally celebrated April 13 to 15. In Thailand it is celebrated with people sprinkling and splashing water on each other in the streets, but that’s unlikely to happen on the streets of NYC or LA.
