Test drive the new and award-winning Nissan Leaf plug-in all electric car at Jones Beach today through Sunday. It’s the local stop on the Nissan Drive Electric Tour. It’s FREE to test drive, but you must be registered to guarantee what I call ‘seat time’ — register here for the day and time you want to test drive. If you are not registered, you drive on an ‘as available’ basis, which could mean you just stand around, watching and waiting. The Nissan Leaf test drive event is in Parking Lot #4 at Jones Beach. Hours are 9am to 8pm Friday and Saturday, and 8am to 4pm Sunday. Nissan advises you allow 60-90 minutes for the test drive experience. The all-electric LEAF is a great car — fun to drive and surprisingly roomy for its size. Yes, I’ve driven it — and also written about it. Remember, I’m also an automotive journalist. - Also this weekend, test drive more than 50 models of Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC against their competitors from Toyota, Honda, Lexus, Mercedes, Hyundai and others, at GM’s Main Street in Motion, at the Nassau Coliseum. Click here for the posting earlier this week on NYC on the Cheap.
