Through Veterans Day, Starbucks is donating $5 to the USO for every Starbucks Card or eGift card you activate, and Starbucks also is offering free coffee to active and retired US military and spouses on Veterans Day.
The USO, of course, supports service members and their families around the world.
Through Wed., Nov. 11th, Starbucks will contribute $5 to the USO Transition 360 Alliance for each newly activated special edition Veterans Starbucks Card/eGift. $5 minimum card load is required. Link to purchase and send an eGift card online.
Starbucks is one of two dozen national food chains offering a Veterans Day freebie or other meal deal.
See the Veterans Day freebies list here.
The USO Transition 360 Alliance is an initiative to help U.S. military personnel and their families successfully transition back into civilian life after their service ends.
The USO website also says that when you buy Starbucks Via Instant Coffee (online only at StarbucksStore.com), Starbucks will make a matching donation of Via Instant Coffee to the USO for delivery to active duty military.
Starbucks also has made a comitment to hire 100,000 military veterans and/or military spouses by 2018.
