South Street Seaport Museum celebrates the grand re-opening of Pier 16 and the Street of Ships with an all-day fair on Saturday, April 26th. The celebration includes the chance to board the historic ships Peking, Pioneer, W. O. Decker and Ambrose FREE between noon and 6 p.m.
There’s also concerts, the opportunity to try old-fashioned print-making, and more. And a special bell-ringing ceremony at 2 p.m.
Pier 16 was heavily damaged by Superstorm Sandy in October 2012, and it’s taken this long to get the pier back in shipshape for visitors. Hence the South Street Seaport Museum slogan See Change.
