There’s a new blockbuster fashion exhibit in NYC, hot on the heels of the record-breaking Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Met Museum. And you don’t need ticket for this FREE exhibit at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The new FIT fashion exhibit is dedicated to the fabulous clothing and accessories collection of brewery heiress Daphne Guinness. It’s not all McQueen. Designers on display include Valentino, Tom Ford, Chanel, Nina Ricci, Dior and Givenchy. some 100 garments, shoes and other accessories from Guinness’s personal collection, plus films, videos, and images, of and by her. FIT is at 27th Street and Seventh Avenue. Museum hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There’s no word yet whether FIT will extend hours for McQueen-aholocics. The exhibit will be on view through January 7, 2012
