Save $20 on Amazon Prime if you sign up in the next week. Amazon is raising the fee next week from $79 to $99 a year, including for renewals. It’s the first Amazon price increase since the annual free shipping membership program was launched nine years ago.
The price increase is limited to Amazon Prime, which provides free two-day shipping on most items, plus access to thousands of streaming movies and TV shows through Amazon Instant Video, a service similar to Netflix.
According to the company, Prime Fresh membership will stay at $299, and students with an .edu email address still will get Prime for $49 per year.
Business Insider reports that Amazon Prime members will soon get access to a streaming music service similar to Spotify.
So if you’ve been considering an Amazon Prime membership, do it now, before the Amazon Prime price increase, and save $20.
