Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Riverbank State Park with a ten-day party of FREE events in the park, at 145th St. and Riverside Drive, overlooking the Hudson River. Events start at 1:45 p.m., today, Saturday, May 18th, with a parade and community carnival with family friendly events through 5 p.m. Be sure to check out the Riverbank State Park carousel during your visit. Here’s the rest of the day’s schedule –
- Rock the City Basketball Classic (Gym), 2:30-9 p.m.
- Singles Tennis Carnival (outside tennis courts), 2-4 p.m.
- Performances by Maritri Garrett, Kid Rhythm, The Harlem Renaissance Choir, Senior Line Dancers, and more, 2 – 6 p.m. (outside, Mainstage).
- Carousel Carnivale. Face painting, magic show, balloon sculptor, board games, chess, and free carousel rides! Arts & crafts for children in the courtyard, 2-6 p.m..
Sunday, May 19 – 10 am – 7 p.m. Rock the City Basketball Classic (Gym) Cheer on the best teams in the tri-state area!
Thursday, May 23 – 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Senior Social Cabaret, featuring the entertainment of Lonnie Youngblood (Cultural Theatre). For reservations, call 212-694-3656.
Friday, May 24 –10 a.m. – Young People’s Performance Series: Jack Ryan, the “Hoop Wizard” (Gym). Great fun for kids!
