One of the best FREE events of the summer begins this week, with eleven days of music, dance, theater and visual arts performances around Lower Manhattan. The 14th annual River to River Festival is June 18-28, with events at South Street Seaport, Governors Island and more.
Highlights include the popular annual contemporary-classical-music blowout Bang on a Can Marathon at the Winter Garden in Lower Manhattan, and dance performances by Trisha Brown Dance Company and Twyla Tharp.
Also, some Lower Manhattan restaurants are offering discounts to River to River Festival attendees. The list is on the R2R15 website.
