A little bragging music please — my successful NYC guidebook, Peaceful Places New York City is now available as an app for iPhone, iPad and iTouch devices. Get rid of stress, find quiet, tranquil spots to rest, relax and rejuvenate in all five NYC boroughs, in the palm of your hand. Everything is accessible by public transportation, and everything is either free or dirt cheap. There’s more than 100 listings of parks, gardens, hiking and birding trails, beaches, and some of my favorite secret spots, like the Elevated Acre in downtown Manhattan. $1.99 on the iTunes store. An Android version is due soon.
Peaceful Places New York City is the first of a series of Peaceful Places guides from my publisher, Menasha Ridge Press. Also available now, for those of you who travel, are Peaceful Places guidebooks now as well for Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Boston, and more cities are in the pipeline, all written by writers who live in those cities and know them and love them, as I love my hometown NYC. No apps for them — yet.
The guidebooks are available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other bookstores. And you can like them on Facebook.
