The New York Public Library has moved outdoors for the week, turning the plaza of the main branch on Fifth Avenue into an outdoor reading room. Bring your own book, or borrow one of the novels and non-fiction books on the outdoor racks.
The program is called Library Inside Out, part of the NYPL’s Read Everywhere program.
The program also asks you to add your favorite books and reading spots to the NYPL’s social media pages, with the handle @nypl and the hashtag #ireadeverywhere, along with photos of you, friends or family reading a book. The outdoor library is through Friday, August 15, at the plaza of the main branch, now called the Stephen A Schwarzman Building.
There also are books and magazines to borrow and read at the tables of Bryant Park, which adjoins the main building of the NYPL.
