Forty historic NYC places are free to visit this weekend, in a special Open House event sponsored by the Partners in Preservation program. The to-do list includes special tours of the Apollo Theater, Brooklyn Public Library, a twilight tour of Woodlawn Cemetery, even the opportunity to pose for photos at Federal Hall with a George Washington tribute artist. There are forty historic NYC places on the list, at least one in each New York City borough, and all have been nominated to receive part of up to $3 million in grants from the partnership between American Express and the National Trust for Historic Presservation. Click here for the complete list of events and hours. Most tours are free. And remember to vote for your favorite place in NYC before May 21st. Click here to vote.
