Virtual Help for Minority/Women Owned Businesses & Non-Profits

assistance for small businessesSmall businesses, especially minority-owned, including the minority known as women, may need more help and advice than others.
 
NYC Comptroller Scott M. Stringer is doing a series of FREE online workshops for Minority/Women Owned Business Enterprises.
 
The goal is to help them navigate the resources from the federal, state, and NYC governments and the private sector available to small businesses and M/WBEs impacted by COVID-19.
 
There are two each week, starting today, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, through mid-May.
 
There is also a similar small business session Thursday, April 23 for small businesses sponsored by the NYC Community Affairs Unit and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. 
 
All the sessions are viewable on Zoom.

All webinars start at 11:00am via Zoom!
 
Interpretation will be available in American Sign Language, Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu.
 
Please request interpretation services upon RSVP at least two days before each session. Information provided during these sessions might change as emergency laws, resources and other factors evolve during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is hosting a virtual town hall on the resources available to small businesses and non-profits impacted by COVID-19. Presented by the NYC Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit and Cross River. 
 
It’s 3pm Thursday.  Access it on www.crossriver.com/brooklyntownhall.

If you are a business owner and need help navigating City procurement opportunities and resources,
  • make an appointment with the Comptroller’s Office by emailing diversity@comptroller.nyc.gov.
If you need assistance with complaints or inquiries about government services,
  • please email the Comptroller’s Community Action Center at action@comptroller.nyc.gov.
