Air Force Week New York is a chance to honor hometown heroes from all over the United States. Besides aerial demonstrations from the Thunderbirds and performances by Air Force bands, Air Force Week in New York City August 19th to 21st includes displays such as a military working dog demonstratio and various science and technology programs.
More than 32,000 New York State natives serve in the US Air Force today, with 1,500 of them serving overseas. Many of the Airmen are active and reserves from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Celebrate the men and women of the US Air Force at these FREE events —
Sunday, Aug. 19 — flyover of the Hudson River and the Intrepid Air Sea + Space Museum by the USAF Thunderbirds 1pm;
- Monday, Aug. 20 — Air Force Displays, noon noon to 7 p.m. at Pier 86, Intrepid Air Sea + Space Museum
- Monday, Aug. 20 — Concert, noon to 7 p.m. at Brooklyn War Memorial, Cadman Plaza Park
- Tuesday, Aug. 21 — Brooklyn Cyclones Baseball Game, 6:30 to 9:30 pm, Coney Island (not free)
