A ceremony at noon today honors the deaths and injuries in the first bombing of the World Trade Center, 20 years ago today, Feb. 26, 1993. Six people died and more than 1,000 were injured by a blast in an underground garage below one of the twin towers. Originally, it was thought to be a transformer fire, but investigators quickly found a vehicle identification number on a piece of the blown-up van that they traced to Mohammed Salameh, who had rented the van.
The 20th anniversary ceremony is being held at the 9/11 memorial that honors more than 2,700 people who died in the 2001 terrorist attack at the World Trade Center.
