Monday menus — NYC hotels, where Don Draper, Roger Sterling and some of the other cast of the award-winning Mad Men drank, ate or slept — alone or not — are celebrating the return of the blockbuster AMC series for its fifth season with deals on old fashioned cocktails popular with the Madison Avenue crowd in the 50s, 60s and 70s.
- The Pierre — On Tuesday, March 27th, The Pierre’s weekly jazz night goes retro. The Two E Bar/Lounge is offering classic 1960s cocktails including Grasshopper, Moscow Mule and Sazarac, for $14. Guests also are invited to dress up Mad Men-inspired garb, including pointy bras and skinny ties. The swank Pierre, at Fifth Avenue and 60th St., has been featured in several episodes of previous seasons.
- Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel — For the rest of the Mad Men season, the R Lounge is offering up a special “before dinner cocktails” deal, with Mad Men-inspired cocktails just $6 — that’s half the regular price, and more like what prices were back then — every Sunday up until the show airs at 9PM. The Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel has not been featured in any Mad Men episode, since it was built recently, and did not exist in the time period in which Mad Men is set.
