Update — New York City’s legendary Halloween Parade in Greenwich Village has been CANCELLED, due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Here’s the announcement from the sponsors —
It is with great sadness for our beloved City that we must announce that the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management and the NYPD have CANCELLED this year’s Halloween Parade. We hope everyone who would have come to this event–with your great large spirits!–will volunteer at one of the outreach centers or help someone in need.

Cancelled — Wednesday’s Halloween party for kids at the American Museum of Natural History.
Cancelled — Wednesday Haunted Halloween party in Stuyvesant Cove Park, Lower Manhattan.
