Drop your tops: In honor of Women’s Equality Day, there will be another topless parade in NYC on Sunday, Aug. 28th, one of more than 60 such marches nationwide and worldwide.
It’s the 9th annual Go Topless Day.
To watch the topless parade: The topless parade kicks off at 1PM, marching down Broadway from 58th Street to 48th Street, then across 48th to rally at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza until 4PM.
The parade has no floats or marching bands with precision choreography. But it does have balloons, in the shape of giant boobs.
To participate in the topless parade: Topless parade participants, men and women, gather at 11AM at 58th Street and Eighth Avenue. Registration is not necessary. Just show up topless.
Note that it has been legal to be topless in public in New York City since 1992. But that’s not the case in other cities.
Check the Go Topless Day website for rules elsewhere.
GoTopless, the parade’s organizer, was founded in 2007 to defend women’s constitutional right to be as publicly bare-chested as men.
