Kilts, bagpipes and plaid are the order of the day on Saturday, April 6th for the annual Tartan Day Parade. What does a Scotsman wear under his kilt? Try to find out as marchers head north on Sixth Avenue, from 45th to 55th Streets, starting at 2 PM. This is the 15th year of the Tartan Day Parade, which winds up Tartan Week events in NYC.
A word of advice for apres parade socializing – Scots consider it heresy to add anything except a splash of water to their world-famous whiskies, especially single malts. Please don’t insult a Scot by adding diet soda or something similar to a wee dram.
