Once again, NYC on the Cheap is happy to give away tickets to a preview screening of what is sure to be a hit film. This time, it’s FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS, starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant, about a woman who always dreamed of being an opera singer, despite not having a lovely voice.
The film is based on the true story of the NYC heiress in the 1940’s.
The FREE preview is 7:00pm Tuesday, August 2nd in Chelsea, before the film opens to the public ten days later.
NYC on the Cheap is giving away 50 tickets, one ticket per person to the first 50 NYCOTC followers who sign up.
Florence Foster Jenkins Cast: Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, Simon Helberg, Rebecca Ferguson, Nina Arianda
Synopsis: Set in 1940s New York, Florence Foster Jenkins is the true story of the legendary New York heiress and socialite (Meryl Streep) who obsessively pursued her dream of becoming a great singer. The voice she heard in her head was beautiful, but to everyone else it was hilariously awful. Her “husband” and manager, St. Clair Bayfield (Hugh Grant), an aristocratic English actor, was determined to protect his beloved Florence from the truth. But when Florence decided to give a public concert at Carnegie Hall, St. Clair knew he faced his greatest challenge.
As much as we love our Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest and Instagram followers, you must be a NYCOTC newsletter subscriber to be eligible for the free tickets.
If you are not already a NYC on the Cheap subscriber, this is a good time to sign up. It’s free, of course. Just add your email address to the subscription form at the top right side of this page, or click this link to subscribe.
The sign-up code for the screening will be emailed to subscribers at 9am Saturday, July 30th.
Please do not sign up for tickets if you can’t attend, since you will be depriving somebody else from getting a ticket.
