There are Memorial Day parades and events throughout New York City this weekend, on Sunday and Monday, honoring the service and sacrifice of the US military. All events are FREE and open to the public.

Sunday, May 27
Forest Hills Memorial Day Parade
Time: 12 p.m.
Route: Runs along Metropolitan Avenue between Ascan Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard
Monday, May 28
Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Memorial Day Observance
Time: 10 a.m. – noon
Location: Manhattan, New York (Riverside Dr. & 89th St.)
More Info: Annual Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony will take place at Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument in Manhattan.
Brooklyn’s Memorial Day Parade
Time: 11 a.m.
Route: Starts on 3rd Avenue and 78th Street in Bay Ridge; Ends at Cannonball Park on 4th Avenue and 101st Street.
Memorial Day Commemoration at Green-Wood Cemetery
Time: 2:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Green-Wood Cemetery
This 20th annual Memorial Day weekend event includes a Leonard Bernstein Centennial concert. The legendary composer and conductor is buried in Green-Wood Cemetery.

Bronx’s Memorial Day Parade
Time: 2 p.m.
Route: City Island Avenue between Winter Street and Cross Street
Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade
Time: 2 p.m.
Route: Starts at Jayson Avenue and Northern Boulevard; ends at Divine Wisdom Catholic Academy schoolyard
Staten Island’s Memorial Day Parade
Time: 10 a.m.
Route: Along Forest Avenue
