Here are Memorial Day events, from morning to noon to night:
Memorial Day Commemoration at Soldiers’ & Sailors Monument’ – In conjunction with New York Fleet Week, active duty Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen participate. At 10am, the United States Navy Band perform a musical prelude. The Procession sets off at 10:30 am, led by the New York Scottish Pipes and Drums, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War in period uniforms, and the Veteran Corps of Artillery. 10am-12pm at Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Monument, Riverside Drive 89th St.
Memorial Day Commemoration at Federal Hall National Memorial – Commemorate the day in 1868, when General John Logan, the Commander-In-Chief of the Grand Army of the Republic, designated May 30th as Decoration Day, a time for the nation to mourn and decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers. Park rangers lead tours and discussions in the John Peter Zenger Gallery, 11am to Noon and again 2pm to 3pm. For those who forgot their American history or media history – Zenger was the Revolutionary Era journalist who pushed for freedom of the press, which became part of the Bill of Rights. 26 Wall St., with the statue of George Washington out front.
VFW Post 107 Memorial Day Parade – 10am-1pm – Whitney Ave between Plumb 2 St and Gerritsen Ave., Brooklyn
Rosedale Memorial Day Parade – 11am-5pm – 243rd St between Mayda Rd and 145th Ave, Queens
Canarsie Memorial Day Parade – 11am-2pm – Flatlands Ave between Rockaway Pkwy and 98th St, Brooklyn
Bedford Stuyvesant Memorial Day Parade – 11am-5pm – Fulton St, Brooklyn
Kings County Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade – 11am – 78th Street and Third Ave to 101st and Fourth Ave, Brooklyn
Staten Island Memorial Day Parade – 12pm-4pm – Forest Ave between Hart and Jewett Aves.

New York Philharmonic Annual FREE Memorial Day Concert – Performing Mahler Symphony No. 4. 8pm at Cathedral of St. John the Divine on the Upper West Side. There are no reservations, seating is first come first served. Seating opens at 6pm
