As part of NYC Marxfest, which celebrates the 100th anniversary of the nicknaming of the Marx Brothers, attend a FREE program exploring how this inventive and creative band of brothers influenced comedians ever since.
“We’re All Mad Here: The Marx Brothers in Context” is a free slide lecture at the Mid-Manhattan branch of the NY Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 29th, with author Trav S. D.. The talk features many comedians and teams who were contemporaries of the Marx Brothers in films and vaudeville, including Eddie Cantor and Smith and Dale.
The Mid Manhattan Library is on Fifth Avenue across from the main branch with the two lions out front. There are no reserved seats, so be there in time to get one. And be prepared to laugh.
